Well-done, again! Your use of the FACTS model components is very useful in remembering what these are. Depending on what courses you have taken in this program, we may or may not have discussed the creation of 'lessons' using a model called ACTS (Norton & Sprague book, chapter 5). Authentic problems, Clear Outcome, Thinking Skills, and Software Skills. This model allows the integration of a technology tool with curriculum to be emphasized in a way that shows how the tool supports/enriches learning.
ReplyDeleteThe FACTS model is a design framework for creating larger chunks of instruction, or units. I think in our case here, we'll call them "learning opportunities" because I think that fits better with your professional situation.
This section of the course begins our exploration into teachers as designers. This may not be a difficult concept for you to embrace because of your professional background. However, it is not something classroom teachers are taught to be in pre-service programs. More under the more recent post....
